I am absolutely SOAKING.IN.EVERY.MINUTE with our sons!
I already cannot imagine life without them!
Sure, I deal with the occasional "Mommy Guilt" {that I am told stays with moms forever! Oi!} when I try to balance my time between the two boys ~ who want to do such vastly different activities ~ but hey! I knew that would be a challenge with two children ten years apart!
And OH what FUN we have when the three of us (or FOUR of us if Dad isn't working) play together! {big 'ol smile inserted here}
When I contemplate leaving the boys with someone else to care for them, while I return to work, my heart just SINKS and my tummy hurts! I know that many families have both parents working, and it totally works for them and the children do absolutely FINE!
However, for me and my family, we have decided that me staying at home is the best decision for us! I gave work my notice back in April, as the plan was to have me return in May.
Now I don't know when/if I will practice as a PT again!
SO EXCITING to think that my long-awaited dream of motherhood is HERE! And I get to be a stay-at-home mama!
PRAISING GOD for providing us the opportunity to do this! I have some friends who really enjoy working a few days as a "break" because mothering is the hardest (and most rewarding) job they have ever had, but I am HAPPY to dive into motherhood with both feet!!!!!!
When contemplating my job, and how I have developed myself as a physical therapist (physician and patient relations), it makes me a bit nervous to "extend" my maternity leave indefinitely. And when I consider how much I love working with the people that I work with, it makes me a bit sad to think I won't interact with them daily.
BUT! NOTHING MAKES ME THINK TWICE when I consider being HOME WITH MY BOYS! Jeff and I know we will NEVER look back and wish that we put more into work and income! Jeff and I agree that our boys are our "ministry" right now, and we feel privileged to be able to have me do it full-time!
WOOHOO!!!!
Know that if you do work outside of the home, I so totally understand that that is the best answer for many families. I will never judge anyone who makes the decision to work outside of the home or inside the home! God guides each family in an individual way!
And I hope no one will hold against me our family decision to have me stay at home!!!!! We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that THIS is the BEST decision for US!!!!
And we are SO EXCITED about it!
THANK YOU, LORD, for making this decision so clear to us. THANK YOU for having my work be so understanding and supportive. THANK YOU for providing us a way to make this happen. THANK YOU, LORD, for the sweet boys that are the reason I am staying at home! Please help me and guide me to be the BEST wife and mother you created me to be!

Such a tough decision but I'm so proud of you! You will NEVER regret this decision. So happy for you!!
That is fantastic, Debb!! So happy for your family.
Oh, can I ever relate. When my kids were little, I would get sick at the thought of leaving them. You're doing the right thing!
It has to be this way! Thank you God that your Will IS being done. AMEN! I would have/should have done that. No would have/should haves for you dear friend! I could not feel more joy in my heart for you!
I wish I had your way with words!!!! This is EXACTLY the way I feel, but I can never seem to articulate it well. I am not going back to teaching in the fall (we are praying, praying, praying that we get a referral SOON!!!!) and it is a little (ok, a LOT) scary, but we KNOW that this is what God has for OUR family!!!!! I'm so glad that God has opened the door for you to enjoy your boys every minute of every day!!!! ~Pam~
THANK YOU for the encouragement! Basking in the JOY of sharing every minute with our boys! So blessed to have each of you following along with us too! :D
Being a stay-at-home mama is the most important job in the world. I am so thankful I could always be home with my kiddos. You will never regret this decision!!
Joyce
Congratulations on your NEW job!! I've been home for 12 years now with the kids and still feel grateful everyday. Have fun!!
Congratulations! I too stay home with our boys during the day with an in-home daycare and only leave to work (on occasion) in the evening after Garth comes home. I think when you wait as long as we did to become mommies, you don't want ANYONE else raising your kids. Being a mom is DEFINITELY the best job in the world, but also the hardest. Enjoy being a SAHM!
