WARRIORS IN PINK!

WOW!  So glad Blogger is back on track and we can post again!  I felt like I was going through blog withdrawals!  Ha!

So a few of my girlfriends and I created a team to do the Susan Komen RACE FOR THE CURE last Saturday!  We called ourselves "The Pink Ladies."  Rain was predicted, but we walked in superb weather!  The sun even came out to shine its warmth on us intermittently!

It has taken me a while to get this posted, with Mother's Day posts and then a crazy busy week {will post about Wed and Thurs FUN next!}, but figured a week isn't too late to post, right!?!?!?  ;)  Not sure why some of these pics are so small, but posting them anyway!

What a GREAT cause to gather together and celebrate health and surviving, while remembering those who fought valiantly to the very end.  Although my dear sweet Grandma "B" died of bone cancer, prior to this disease, she DID survive breast cancer!  {walked with you on my heart, Grandma!  way to kick breast cancer's butt!}

The event is a good reminder, too, that PREVENTION is such a HUGE step in the battle agains breast cancer (all cancers, really)!  WE.ARE.THE.CURE!  They had these cute bright green fans for everyone ~ though it wasn't hot outside, the message on them was key.....summarizing the simple steps to taking charge of your breast health:
See your doctor, learn your risk!
Get mammograms and breast exams!
Notice changes to your breasts!
Start the fight by living right!

FORD was there and they gave away these fun pink and purple scarves that we all wore in one way or another!

This was the first year in many years that I was able to participate.  My, have the people gotten crazy with the PINK!  It was so fun to see how creative people were!  We all vow to make this an annual event ~ and we plan to "dress it up" next year too, maximizing on the PINK!

What a great way to start a day!
Thank you, my fellow PINK LADIES!!!!!

My mother in law started radiation this week. Race for the Cure and all the pink ribbons have a brand new meaning to us now that it's so close to home.

Blogger withdrawal is right! Scary there for a day or so!
